The Barn is accessible by wheelchair and has a toilet that is also accessible by wheelchair.
Directions
The entrance to Philips Park is on Park Lane Whitefield, where it meets Philips Park Road West
close to the entrance of Sedgley Park Rugby Club.
Park Lane is off Higher Lane Whitefield at the junction where Philips High School is situated.
Proceed along Park Lane, note there are speed bumps along this road.
By car
At the Parkfield Hotel mini roundabout, Park Lane continues straight on past Sedgley Park Rugby Club. (Do not follow the road round to the right.)
Continue along Park Lane past the rugby club and you will reach the entrance to the Park.
Follow the road into the Park, over the M60 and up the hill. At the top of the hill follow the road
past the children’s playground on your left. There is a car park here, however Barn Countryside
users are allowed to park in a second car park adjacent to the Barn. Continue along the road,
ignoring the residents only signs.
Barn countryside users are allowed to drop off and use the car park adjacent to the Barn. Please
do not park on the hard-standing area next to the houses as this is reserved for the residents.
If the Barn Car Park is full please return to the first car park.
By public transport
Bus or tram to Whitefield Metrolink station. Then it is a 30 to 40-minute walk
to the park. The 513 bus from outside Morrisons, next to the tram stop runs hourly through the
day to the Parkfield Hotel. (Hillingdon Avenue stop).
Walking from the tram stop. Head along the A56 towards Manchester. After 100m turn right into
Hamilton Road. At the top of Hamilton Road turn left past Stand Cricket Club, along Higher Lane.
At the traffic lights turn right into Park Lane, see above.
